A recipe book for Noma

Updated: Apr 24, 2020

Client: Noma.

Publisher: Phaidon Press.

I project managed and edited A Work in Progress: Journal, Recipes and Snapshots by René Redzepi, including liaison with the restaurant, designer, photographer and production team, as well as copyediting, proofing and creation of publicity materials.

A Work in Progress is a personal account of life at the now famous restaurant. Written by Redzepi as a series of journal entries, the text is accompanied by approximately 75 recipes worked on during the same year. Illustrated with a combination of candid photography shot by René and his team, A Work in Progress promises to be a unique insight into the inner workings of the restaurant and its highly creative team of chefs.

Designed by Kobi Benezri, the design concept split the content into three separately bound publications, a journal; a recipe book with by photography by Ditte Isager and an introduction by Lars Ulrich of Metallica; and the snapshots book — a small format, roughly the size of a smartphone, containing 188 photos.
